Soy retratista. Llevo doce años haciendo que las personas se encuentren con la mejor versión de sí mismas frente a una cámara, y dieciséis trabajando en publicidad política dentro y fuera de Costa Rica. I am a portraitist. For twelve years I've helped people meet the best version of themselves in front of a camera, and for sixteen I've worked in political advertising in and outside Costa Rica.

Mis retratos han sido portada de Vanidades, Perfil, TVyNovelas, Traffic, Bag y Estilo Ejecutivo. Por mi lente han pasado figuras como Glenda Umaña, Edgar Silva y Ginnéz Rodríguez. Me gusta decirlo así: convierto en 'wow' lo casual. Busco la foto que hace que alguien diga 'nadie me había visto así'. My portraits have covered Vanidades, Perfil, TVyNovelas, Traffic, Bag and Estilo Ejecutivo. Figures like Glenda Umana, Edgar Silva and Ginnez Rodriguez have passed in front of my lens. I like to put it this way: I turn the casual into 'wow'. I chase the photo that makes someone say 'no one had ever seen me like this'.

Lo mío viene de casa. De mi padre Rogelio heredé la pasión por el video y la fotografía; de mi madre Xinia, la sensibilidad para captar con el corazón. Fui profesor universitario de fotografía digital durante diez años: enseñar me obligó a entender, de verdad, por qué una imagen funciona. Mine comes from home. From my father Rogelio I inherited the passion for video and photography; from my mother Xinia, the sensitivity to capture with the heart. I taught digital photography at university for ten years: teaching forced me to truly understand why an image works.

Veinte años de producción audiovisual me llevaron de ACNUR y Naciones Unidas a la Presidencia de la República, Corbana, la Universidad EARTH y el BID, con marcas como BaByliss Latinoamérica, Simán y Best Brands en el camino. Cada encargo distinto, la misma obsesión: que la imagen quede a la altura de quien la protagoniza. Twenty years of audiovisual production took me from UNHCR and the United Nations to the Presidency of the Republic, Corbana, EARTH University and the IDB, with brands like BaByliss Latin America, Siman and Best Brands along the way. Different briefs, same obsession: an image worthy of the person at its center.
